tried it: chocolate lava cake

My favorite desert is molten chocolate cake. So of course when perusing down the aisle at Trader Joes and saw that they carried Chocolate Lava Cake I was super excited to try it out. People....this is REALLY good. Moist cake, yummy creamy center...DELICIOUS!!! I sliced up two strawberries on the side which was parfait. I implore you to try this if you like chocolate as much as me!

tried it: de-pot your mac shadows

I wanted to de-bulk some of my make-up due to all the traveling so I watched THIS video {below} and put all of my shadows {and then some....seriously I went crazy} into a palette.  It is super easy and awesome!!!  Try it yourself :)

oh feet.

My feet take a beating. Between running around town in flip flops and then pounding around a stage nightly the feet are a little scary. I've gotten many a pedicure and just can't seem to get them as soft as I would like, so I wanted to try a new foot cream. My usual go to is Bag Balm, but that is in storage in NY {and I'm not so sure it would travel great} so while perusing the Nordstrom I came across Kihels Intensive Treatment for Dry or Callused Areas. Well, its working ok and I am fine with seeing progress over time but I'm not sure it is the cure-all.

Tell me, do you have the solution? What works for you!?!

brain cubby holes

Last year I was very inspired by the use of d.Sharps resolution diagrams using the idea of Phrenology--mapping of the brain. I even used it in a lesson for RS at church. I love the idea of visually seeing how much space some resolutions will take, while others are small and simple. I didn't actually do resolutions for this year, but I have a feeling they will come in their own way. And when they do, I'll probably map it out into what d.Sharp calls little (brain) cubby holes.

tried it: opaque tights

Best opaque tights? In my opinion, Spanx 'Tight End' Shaping Tights. And, I happen to know a certain Gossip Girl wears them too!

I think they have good stretch, great opacity, and make you feel SUPER secure. I think opaque tights are just as important a wardrobe staple as are dark denim jeans and your lbd (little black dress).

tried it: regenerist micro-sculpting cream

It has been called the drugstore equivalent to the La Mer brand. And because I have to pay rent and not buy $350 face moisturizer I decided to splurge the $23 and try out Oil of Olay's new Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream.

Verdict: This stuff is awesome. Completely moisturized without feeling greasy, and my skin feels a little closer to those grand ol' high school days. I highly recommend it! Downside--it doesn't have any spf in it....so you have to do one more step.

tried it: wii fit

Ok, so we got the Wii Fit last night. It is so cool. It measures your balance, posture, BMI, weight, and calculates your actual age (this was quite shocking as I am apparently 10 years older than I really am). The moves are really fun, and it is going to be a good way to track my exercise and weight. I'll keep you updated if it really works for me!

tried it: o-gloss from smashbox

I tried the o-glow cheek color when it came out and didn't love it. But, it looked great on friends so I thought well, if they come out with a gloss I would probably be obsessed. Well, the o-gloss made its debut....I tried it and just didn't think it was anything special {especially for $22}. Love the feel, but it was kinda goopy and not my favorite pink. And all who know me, know I love my pink lips!

Sorry, Smashbox....this product is just not my thing!

tried it: neutralizing "soap"

I tried this out one day and let me tell you....it totally works and is genius. Sometimes I just don't want to run a spoon all over my hands after chopping up some garlic. Plus, it's on sale right now for only $6.99!

tried it: GapBody eau de toilette

I just sprayed some of this on me at The Gap. I love that I smell like fresh laundry! All of the scents were actually very light and quite pleasant.
