Casey and I ventured up to Whistler and went zip-lining and took an amazing gondola ride up the mountain.  We fell in love with our Aussie zip-line pros who took us on the course....which was awesome by the way.  I did some sweet upside down work on the line :)  It was a gorgeous and foggy day complete with a rainbow at the top of the mountain and a brown bear sighting!

I went to Banff with dear friends Peter and Tiffany.  Talk about Paradise!  It is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever seen.  The glacial water is the most beautiful color....it felt like heaven!  We saw the Takkakaw Falls, canoed Lake Louise, toured the Fairmont Hotel on Lake Louise, picnicked near a beautiful river,  shopped in Banff, changed clothes (Peter almost had a heart attack doing this, ha) in the Banff Fairmont Hotel and ate one of the most delicious meals I have ever had with one of the most exquisite views.  We wrapped the day by visiting a friend's cabin and noshing on s'mores.  A perfect end to a perfect day!

To finish up my vacation photos I wanted to share some of our island pics from our day trip to the Pitons, the volcanic plugs in St. Lucia.  I cannot even begin to describe the smell at the sulfur springs.  Rotten eggs comes to mind!  The island was incredibly beautiful and it was so interesting to see the people walking around their villages and walking along the side of the road.  I loved to see the many homes with hanging laundry and families gathered on the front porch.  All of these pics (beside the one of the three sisters) were taken from inside the moving van.  Pretty good, eh? 

It was an incredible vacation and experience...my actual first time using my passport if you can believe it.  I can't wait to visit again!

vacation: st lucia, the resort

The Wind Jammer was such a fantastic resort.  It was actually on the opposite end of the island to the airport, but the taxi ride we took was fascinating and like touring the countryside. The grounds were so beautiful and the private beach was incredible.  We pulled up chairs everyday and read, napped, sipped fruity drinks and swam in the ocean all day.  So lovely...when can I go back?!?

So we decided to travel to the island of St. Lucia in the Caribbean and I am BEYOND happy we went there.  It was so beautiful,  pure bliss and 100% relaxing...I couldn't have asked for more.  I left Charlotte and headed to NYC to meet up with my sisters Sommer and Caitlyn.  Becuase we were still deciding where to go until the night before basically (a luxury when your sister works for Jet Blue) we booked the resort the moment I landed in NYC leaving me minutes to board the plane to St. Lucia!  Cutting it close?!?  I had researched the resorts earlier and had settled between 2.  I really wanted to stay somewhere with a private beach and the WindJammer resort kept coming up so we booked there.  Such a gorgeous place!  St Lucia is a beautiful island and the people are really sweet.  I highly recommend it!

The patio at night was so nice.  Loved sitting out here and looking at the ocean.

This was the largest moth I have ever seen!  Beautiful design on his/her wings, but freaked me out a bit when it flew around the patio!
